Don't Forget the Lyrics!

Tuesday June 25th at 2:00 PM
Think you can remember the words to your favorite songs? Come to this musical competition, based on the popular game show, to find out! We will play a piece of a song, then participants will have to come up with the next line or lines of the song to win. Event is free and open to teens. Refreshments will be provided. Call the library at 330-343-6123 to register.
What music do you all listen to? Help me out by emailing me at strausel@oplin.org with your favorite artists, songs, and genres. Then come to this fun event and see which ones I picked to be part of the competition.

Kawaii Charms

Tuesday June 18th at 2:00 PM
Join us to learn how to make Kawaii ("Cute") Charms out of Polymer Clay. Paint them up and add them to friendship bracelets, necklaces, keychains, zipper pulls, and much more! Event is free and open to teens. All materials will be provided by the library. Please register by calling the library at 330-343-6123.
 1. Make a cute charm
2. Bake the charm in the craft oven
3. Paint the charm

Note: This program may run a little late, due to its somewhat time-consuming nature, but I will do my best to keep everyone on track and get all the charms baked by 3:30.

Special thanks to Kairi for this great program idea!

Silent Library

Tuesday June 11th 2:00 PM
It's that time of year again: time to compete in a competition of random pranks while trying really hard not to talk, laugh, or cry. This is our third Silent Library event at Dover Public Library, and while it has always been hilarious and fun, I can't honestly say it has ever been "Silent."
Teens entering grades 7-12 are invited to participate in the library's own (watered-down) version of the MTV Game Show. Teens will compete in teams to complete various challenges and tasks without talking or laughing. Call the library at 330-343-6123 for more information or to register.
Pranks will include a variety of activities, both old and new. They are secret! But if you have a concern about them, feel free to email Liz at strausel@oplin.org with any questions.

2 Truths & a Lie

June 3 - 15 in the Teen Zone
We've collected little-known facts about some library staff members, but are they all true? Come to the Young Adult Area of the Library (AKA the Teen Zone) to see if you can pick out the lie. Hand in your answer at the Circ Desk and also receive a raffle ticket for the Summer of the Teen Grand Prize! Enter up to twice a week to win this basket of prizes, and earn even more tickets by participating in the Teen Reading Program. Program is intended for teens entering grades 7-12.

2 Truths & a Lie - Liz (Sample)
A. I was President of my Sorority in College.
B. I have a horse named Fancy.
C. I have been to Paris.
Which one is the lie? Well, I went to Paris (and London) in March of 2007, and I was President of Pi Phi Gamma in 2008-2009. But I don't have a horse named Fancy, though I do know a horse named Fancy...

Now you know how to play the game, come to the library and play for real for your chance to win the Summer of the Teen Grand Prize.
